Plan the move before the truck arrives

Moving day goes better when the property, people, vehicle, and payments are organised before the first box is lifted. Confirm access times at both properties, whether a truck can enter the gate, where items will be loaded, and who has keys.

Two weeks before moving

  • Confirm move date, route, access times, and truck size.
  • Ask the new landlord or seller about keys, remotes, gate codes, and handover process.
  • Start sorting items into keep, donate, sell, and discard groups.
  • Collect boxes, tape, labels, marker pens, bubble wrap, and bags.
  • List fragile items, documents, electronics, gas cylinders, and valuables separately.
